Writing Rubric

Reading Comprehension

​

For reading comprehension, teacher will let student understanding plot, analysis character, identifying themes, and understanding all the hard words. Goal is make students can extract meaning from the text, understand its literal content, to know the author's purpose.  Students will become a more independent and strategic reader. 

English Literature teachers in RC Palmer Secondary school are most very nice, make students feel good and like them. Their teaching methods are nice, most are same, a little bit different. They will teach about 1/3 reading comprehension, 1/3 writing skills, and 1/3 develop students' inquiry ability.

Writing Skills

​

For writing skills, teacher will let students write many different forms of essays, like persuasive or analytical papers. Teacher will also teach grammar, punctuation and vocabulary. Other way is roader writing process, such as outline, edit, and revise. Goal is make students can articulate their thoughts and interpretations clearly by written.

Inquiry Ability

​

For inquiry ability, teacher will teach critical thinking, analysis, and research skills, it could make students after explore texts to have a strong own idea in their brain. Inquiry ability is much better than rote. Goal is make students to can come to their own conclusion.
