​Food, music and chess: what's happening at Supercrawl this weekend! Come by the CBC and say hello
Hamilton’s iconic music and arts fest kicks off this Friday

Local businesses, art installations, and some of the city's best eats are taking over the streets of downtown Hamilton this weekend for Supercrawl's 15th edition.
The free event kicks off Friday at 6:00 p.m. ET and runs until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Trivia at CBC Hamilton's kiosk

CBC's pop-up kiosk is on a cross-country tour this summer and is, of course, hitting The Hammer for Supercrawl.
Head to the kiosk to meet your local CBC journalists. Also, fancy yourself a whiz of Hamilton history and Canadian culture? Well, even if you don't, you can test your chops on our digital trivia screen and maybe win some prizes.
This is all goes down at the corner of James Street N. and Wilson Street, noon to 8:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
Show love to Canadian small businesses
With 35 food vendors and 140 retail businesses lining the streets this weekend, this is the chance for Supercrawl-goers to explore small businesses from Hamilton and all over the country
People can get a taste of the Canadian classics such as the donair and poutine – or try international flavours such as jerk chicken, Korean-style hotdogs, dumplings, perogies and more at the festival.
Play against Hamilton's international chess master
The trivia wasn't hard enough?
Chess players can challenge Hamilton's international master Brian Hartman on Friday starting at 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chess Simultaneous Exhibitions
On-site registration is located at the Family Zone on Wilson and James Street. For those wanting to join a friendly match, chess boards will be set up for anyone to play.
Amplifying Canadian music
A lineup of Canadian bands and musicians will be performing all weekend long at the TD Stage, King William Beer Garden, Steelport Stage and Hamilton City of Music Stage.
Some include Hamilton's own local talent such as Steve Strongman, the Beans, Sean Bienhaus, Buddah Abusah, Shealagh Rose and more.
Fashion Zone
Supercrawl's runway show will be making a comeback at the Fashion Zone on York Boulevard and James Street North with Hamilton designers and artists showcasing their latest designs and artwork.
The fashion show will be complemented with dance performances and outdoor yoga and workout classes.
Supercrawl weather forecast
Friday will be a mix of sun and clouds in the day, with clouds lingering in the evening, Environment Canada says.
If you plan to come on Saturday, a rain jacket or an umbrella will come in handy with Environment Canada forecasting a 30 per cent chance of rain in the daytime and showers in the evening.
Sunday will be cloudy.
