About Math Class
Math 8 Textbook
For Math 8 and 9, they are relatively simple, because they are in junior high school stage, their knowledges will give students good base for senior high school. Also students will just get the report: extending, proficient, developing and emerging. The main knowledges for Math 8 and 9 are both the number operations, algebra, logic, measurement, geometric constructions, probability and statistics, as well as financial literacy.

Math is a very important subject in RC Palmer Secondary School, it is a required courses. Every students must take it. Otherwise they can't graduate, so they will not go to the university. Math is kind of easy than social study, biology, chemistry. Because the students' English isn't pass are also can take, ELL( English Learning Level) 1 can take too.
Math 10 Textbook
For Math 10 and 11, they will be much hard than before. If students didn't learn well for Math 8 and 9, they will feel very tired and difficult. Teacher will give students credits, it will related to the which university could students go. Math 10 will building upon previous mathematical knowledge, it will add the study of graph analysis and trigonometry. Math 11 knowledges will add 3-D objects, rates of change, and statistics. Math 10 and 11 will get a base for Math 12.
Math 12 Textbook
Math 12 is the last math class in high school. It's knowledge learned will be used in most industry. The knowledges are measurement, geometry, algebra, workplace mathematics, and financial literacy. If the students finish it early in summer school or with good score skip grades, they can start to learn AP (Advanced Placement) Math, this class that need to learn for a whole school year, the difficulty level is roughly equivalent to that of a first-year university student. It mostly learn calculus.
All in all, Math is very important, it related very much in the future, like daily life, work, and university. Many works need Math knowledges, such as finance, scientist, engineer. It gets harder as you grade level get high. There will be more knowledge points, and the questions will also become more difficult.
