About Biology Class

Biology is an important subject in RC Palmer Secondary School, and it's a required course. In grade 8-10, it related with Chemistry and Physics, become Science 8,9,10. Until grade 11, Biology will separate with Chemistry and Physics, become Biology 11 and 12. This course has a huge amount of English vocabulary, students who English didn't pass can't take it, students at least ELL 2 could take.

Cell

For Biology 8-10, it related with Chemistry and Physics, so it isn't really detailed. Biology 8 will learn about microscopes, life, cell, and immune system. Biology 9 will building upon the foundation of Biology 8, it will delve deeper into the study of cells and life, and also learn about DNA. Biology 10 will increase learning about human evolution and genes.
DNA

For Biology 11 and 12, it will be divided into different classes from physics and chemistry. Biology 11 will understand the cell, plant, animal, and fungus. Biology 12 will learn human body's functions and organization, it will learn organ, cancer, gene, DNA, and protein. If students finish Biology early, they can take AP Biology, which is about the same level as first year university.
Cancer

Biology classes prepare students for good future jobs, such as forensic pathologists, scientists, and pharmacists. They also help them maintain good health, understand diseases and treatments, and learn about different organs and treatment methods.
